MAGNETIC PARTICLE TESTING (MT)

is a non-destructive testing (NDT) technique used to find surface and subsurface cracks in ferromagnetic metals like iron, nickel, and cobalt. An NDT technique known as magnetic panicle testing is quick, easy, cheap, and very potable for finding small or shallow surface fractures in ferromagnetic pipes and fixtures. It is a flexible evaluation method that may be used to find flaws on test specimens of a wide range of sizes and shapes. Using an electromagnetic/permanent yoke, coils, and other devices, Big M offers a range of magnetic particle testing services, including dry powder, wet visible, wet fluorescent, and others. At Big M, we make sure that all of our technicians are qualified and cenified in accordance with the highest international standards. According to ASTM, Big M conducts magnetic particle testing on both visible and fluorescent particles in accordance with ASTM E1444, ASTM E125, ASTM E709, ASME BPVC Section V-Article 7, AWS D1.1, BS 6072, EN 1290, BS EN ISO 17638, BS 1369, BS EN 10228-1 and similar national and international standards.

LIQUID PENETRANT TESTING (PT)

is a quick, low-cost, and trustworthy non-destructive inspection technique for finding discontinuities that are visible on the item’s surface. Metals and other nonporous materials that are not affected by penetrant materials can be utilized with it. As long as the discontinuities are open to the surface and sufficiently devoid of extraneous material, it will detect a wide variety of discontinuities ranging in size from those easily visible down to the microscopic level.

In compliance with ASTM E1417, ASTM E165, ASTM E1418, ASTM E433, ASTM E1209, ASTM E1219, ASTM E1220, ASME BPVC Section V-AnicIe 6, EN 571-1, and related national and international standards, Big M conducts visible and fluorescent liquid penetrant testing.

RADIOGRAPHIC TESTING (RT)

EDDY CURRENT TESTING (ECT)

is used to identify or distinguish between a wide range of physical, structural, and metallurgical characteristics in electrically conducting ferromagnetic and nonferromagnetic metals and metal parts. It is based on the principles of electromagnetic induction. Our knowledgeable specialists at Big M have onsite experience, internationally recognized credentials, and are adept in this manner. Big M conducts tests in compliance with identical National and International Standards, including BS EN ISO 17643, ASME BPVC Section V-Article 8, ASTM E376, ASTM E566, ASTM E703, and ASTM E1004.
